John Derek Gupton

John Derek Gupton, a 24-year-old member of the Justice Volunteer Fire Department, passed away while responding to a fire call. He was a member of Duke Memorial Baptist Church and a graduate of Bunn High School in 2008. John was also involved in the Boy Scouts and received the Order of Arrow. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and the community.
Ted Horton

Deputy Ted Horton was killed in a helicopter crash while conducting a narcotics search over a wooded area near Louisburg, NC. The helicopter, a TH-55, experienced mechanical problems during the flight and crashed. Deputy Horton, who was an observer on the flight, did not survive.
Mark Edward Tober

Mark Tober was a dedicated member of the Franklin County law enforcement community for many years. He was known for his professionalism, compassion, and commitment to serving the people of Franklin County. On June 23, 1999, Mark passed away after a long and distinguished career in law enforcement.
